Photographed by the fabulous duo, Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, Dakota's sister has started to make some serious waves in the fashion industry. Elle's cover is one of many for the issue. Other covers released so far belong to Chloe Moretz and Hailee Steinfeld. The unique magazine is back with a fresh set for fall and winter, and you might as well face it because I'm addicted to LOVE.

Elle goes burrowing for treasure in Todd Cole's new collaboration with Rodarte, The Curve of Forgotten Things. The short film features Kate and Laura Mulleavy's spring 2011 collection which drew inspiration from the gold rush and northern California in the 1970s. Elle dances gracefully throughout the empty rooms of the historic house, her outfits changing magically from one room to the next. Georgia-based indie rockers Deerhunter provide the dreamy score. As for the unique title, Todd Cole explains, “It's the title of a Richard Brautigan poem. The poem and the film are about forgotten things—circles and the curve of time.”

Every year the enchanting Victoria's Secret fashion show takes its place. Millions constantly wonder what will be presented in the intriguing extravaganza. How could you not wonder after seeing Adriana Lima flaunt a 5 million dollar bra adorned with nearly 3,900 gems in the 2008 show? If you thought that was the only time you'd see something that exquisite, think again. Adriana models yet another 'fantasy bra' again this year, and has over 3,000 diamonds. There is always something fascinating every year, and I'm never not impressed. Sadly, one of my favorite models, Miranda Kerr will not be gracing the runway this year with her killer charm due to her pregnancy. However, there will be many newcomers which I'm very excited about. The long-legged and tanned supermodels will be presenting some of the most beautiful lingerie on Tuesday, November 30th, so you best tune in to watch the goddesses strut their stuff down the sparkling pink runway. Behind the show is indeed complete chaos, and without such a skilled team, I don't think the show would be as magical and captivating as it is. For those of us who didn't get to attend the show earlier on with the elite individuals, photographer Danielle Rech gives a sneak peak for a glimpse of the reality that makes the magic possible before we see it all on the 30th of November.

Excusez-moi for the delay on more fashion week coverage. Stefano Pilati topped my list this season for his vivid and sophisticated collection. How could you not remember the scene in The September issue where Anna Wintour criticizes Stefano for the lack of color found in his collection for YSL? Showcasing his skill for immaculate cutting and a newly minted point of view, Stefano turned out his best, and brightest, collection yet. White trenches, silk blouses and sleek jumpsuits all called to mind the reminiscence of that chic and powerful seventies woman on the streets in Paris smoking a cigarette, all done with elegance and grace. There are series of ruffled dresses that are certain to appear numerously in the editorial pages this season. Finding the balance between embracing the culture of the brand and adding your own quality, can be a complicated task for designers, but Stefano is one who seems to have mastered it all.

The show had a full orchestra of 80 musicians that played romantic arrangements while more than 80 models graced the runway in chiffon florals and monochrome tweed patchwork.

New York Fashion Week came to an end on September 16th, unfortunately. For us out-of-state fashionistas that can't make it up to the chaotic and exhilarating week, I know we all wish it hadn't come to an end. But, for the talented designers, extraordinary makeup artists, eclectic djs, and the many others that help, I'm sure they were all enervated by such a rush. From Phillip Lim and his sensational tailoring, to Tracy Reese's girly, yet bohemian designs, there wasn't one collecion that I didn't love. Overall, my two favorite collections from this season were of course Alexander Wang and Marc Jacobs. To narrow it down a bit, I've listed two looks from several spring/summer ready-to-wear collections that I particularly liked. This season was all about minimalism. I loved the neutral hues and delicate prints throughout each collection.

From early morning fashion shows, to Karl Lagerfeld's private party, to Alexa Chung debuting her Madewell collection at the Madewell store itself, I have a feeling this season's fashion week will the finest yet. Tonight, September 10th, was Fashion's Night Out, and not only was it being celebrated in the big apple, but in several other à la mode cities all over the world. The shot below of supermodel Sasha Pivovorova peaking out of a taxi's window is an ad for the exciting night out. Sasha is wearing a tee wrapped as a turban, that is especially made for Fashion's Night Out.

Born and raised in Russia, Natalia Vodianova struck the fashion scene when enrolling in a modelling academy at a young age. She is known for her striking features such as her lips and crystal blue eyes. Natalia quickly learned about the competitive industry, but with her killer charm it wouldn't be as difficult for her to make it to the top. To this day, Natalia has walked in more than 175 runway shows, graced the covers of several magazines, and has been a huge success as an editorial and advertising campaign model. Natalia is one of the highest earning models worldwide, and was ranked 14th in the UK's television program World's Greatest Supermodel. In November of 2001, Natalia married Justin Trevor Berkeley Portman, and now have three children. The beautiful family have been featured in several magazines, one being Teen Vogue. In May 2010 Chinese Vogue dedicated an entire issue to Natalia. Some say beauty fades, but I have a feeling this long-legged and Russian beauty will stay in the industry forever.

Tavi Gevinson is one of the youngest fashion bloggers in the industry to this day. Did I happen to mention one of the coolest? Tavi began her blog Style Rookie a little over two years ago at the tender age of 11. Since then, Tavi has had as many as 50,000 readers. In a recent interview, Tavi described herself as a 'tiny 13-year-old dork that sits inside all day wearing awkward jackets and pretty hats'. Not only do I look up to her for style inspiration, but others do as well, many being fashion designers. Tavi has been featured in many magazines for her unique and quirky style, and even appeared on the cover of Pop Magazine. Tavi has become a regular guest at fashion shows, and travels frequently to New York for the annual fashion weeks in February and September. If you'd like to dress like Tavi, you won't need to visit luxury stores like Chanel or Louis Vuitton. It's all about pairing different things together in Tavi's book. Thrift stores are the number one discovery for exceptional and stylish outfits.

City Girl

Recently I took a trip to New York City with my family which was an everlasting journey. The City life is something that can be very, very stressful but also extremely exhilarating. I can see myself in the city of blinding lights sometime in the near future which is a complete adrenaline rush. My summer has not only been very hectic and busy, but also serene at times which I enjoy. I'm so thankful to be able to take trips with my family, especially to my favorite place, New York City. I quickly learned how the people act in the city, and you can definitely make out who's who, meaning the standing status of each individual. It is indeed a beautiful city, but also has its flaws. I was lucky enough to see the Conde' Nast Building which was a complete dream of mine to witness. As I spun through the spinning door of the entrance, I quickly inspected my purse to snatch my camera to take photos but with the silly little tourist I was, I didn't think about it, but of course no photos were allowed inside the building. If you've never been inside Conde' Nast, I will give you an idea of what it is like. Just imagine hearing the stilettos of womens' shoes brush against the marble lobby, and seeing some of the most glamorous people you could ever set your eyes on, and did I mention they all have magnificent clothes? Not only in that building, but in the entire city! Some of the best and most interesting street style I happen to come across was of course in SoHo. I did happen to snap a few shots of other fashionista's while roaming the streets. I better wrap the story up about my remarkable trip to the city before it ends up being a whole novel. Below are several photos of street style, and of course the one and only beautiful city of blinding lights. I really think I am a true city girl.

True Beauty

Do you think true beauty is loving yourself for who you are? Do you believe in worshiping your body no matter what size? Beauty doesn't always have to be the outside - it's about how you see someone. I don't mean looks, I'm saying really looking at someone, digging deep to find what is special. You can think someone is beautiful by looks if you wish, but also find something else that makes them beautiful - and I don't mean makeup or clothes. Is it their personality or culture? Beauty has many definitions to this day, and some people don't realize what it really means. I think that there isn't one woman who isn't self conscious about her body. Every woman should feel beautiful every day all day, with or without makeup, money, or even clothes. I've said to myself plenty of times while flipping through the pages of Elle or Vogue while looking at the glamorous fashion models, 'I wish I could look like that'. Everyone has individual talents and is beautiful in their own way. I've learned a lot about the human body and learning to accept different cultures, and finally seeing the true beauty in everyone. I read that in some foreign countries, body fat is cherished. It is known as a beautiful nature. And that is what I love learning about, people have many other unique definitions of true beauty. Beauty is what YOU want to see, its nothing else but what you want to see.

Think tanning beds are no big deal? The latest studies show that you could be playing with fire.

As I was browsing through the June/July issue of Teen Vogue, I came across this fantastic article by Richa Gulati talking about how young adults, mainly young girls, in the summer tend to think its competition when it comes to tanning. Well, I completely agreed with just about everything in the article, and many things that were mentioned intimidated me. There was a story about a redhead girl with a milky white complexion, Meghan, who was always teased for her pale skin. Meghan revealed that people would call her dead, or even see-through. When Meghan was seventeen, she got a tan on vacation that she was determined to keep. She soon started using tanning beds once a week for two years to maintain her new skin color, without her parents' knowledge. Later on during a physical, Meghan asked her doctor about a dark and itchy mole on her stomach. It was diagnosed as Stage II melanoma, the most harmful form of skin cancer. Meghan went through surgery the next month to remove a part of her stomach skin and eight lymph nodes under her arms. A five inch scar from 70 stitches is a visible reminder of the cancer. Her doctor confirmed that he frequent use of tanning beds caused the skin cancer. Meghan admitted that the salon felt safe and sterile so it didn't seem that bad. It's a common misconception that tanning beds are a safe way to get color, but the truth is that they'll expose you to very harmful levels of radiation which are known to cause cancers that can be fatal. "Tanning is the body's way of showing damage. Skin darkens from UV exposure because the body adds pigment in response to tissue injury," says David E. Fisher, M.D., chairman of the dermatology department and professer at Harvard's Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. "Many people believe that a tan is a natural and healthy and a sunburn is the sign of sun overexposure. Actually, all forms of tanning, with or without burns, are dangerous." Fisher thinks that the use of tanning beds is dangerous behaviour, and studies show he's right. Young adults who use tanning beds increase their chance of developing melanoma by 75 percent, according to the International Agency for Research on Cancer. Rates of the disease among young women are also rapidly on the rise. In the last 30 years, melanoma diagnoses have increased by nearly 50 percent. Alongside melanoma, doctors believe that two other common types of cancer are also connected to sun-less tanning. "Squamos and basal cell carcinomas are cancers linked to indoor tanning and are far more common than melanoma. They recieve less attention since they're less likely to kill," Fisher says, "but treatment can still involve major surgery and scars." If teens and tanning booths are such a dangerous mix, why do 2 million teens nationwide use these machines annually? It's partly because businesses aggressively advertise the supposed benefits of tanning beds. "There's no way to reverse the damage that's been done, but quitting immediately is the only way to minimize health risks," Vilma Cokkinides, Ph.D., a director of risk research at the American Cancer Society. Meghan, now fully recovered, spreads the message by volunteering with the Melanoma Foundation of New England and the American Academy of Dermatology. But some teens aren't so lucky. Jaime Regen Rea, from Texas, a frequent tanning bed user, would spend her school lunch hour secretly at a local salon. At 20, Jaime was diagnosed with melanoma, which she battled for nine years before passing away. "Jaime wanted a 'killer' tan, and that's exactly what she got," says her mother, Donna. "She would want other girls to know that the 'glow' she got from tanning beds, which she thought was so attractive as a teenager, caused her years of pain, from having large disfiguring scars and losing her hair to needing an oxygen tank to breathe. Jaime's headstone is the harsh reality of what tanning can do to a young woman who was beautiful jsut the way she was." The BEST advice is learn to love the skin you're in so that you don't have to change it with sun or tanning beds.

Karl Templer styled this shoot with unique fashions including of my favorite designers, Alexander Wang. The photos of Freja are so beautiful and chic as she’s dressed in soft and strong ensembles. The soft construction of the clothes makes this editorial amazing. Her long and slender body tends to make the ballerina concept believable. The shot with Freja's thumb hooked onto the buckle loop is exactly the kind of attention to detail that takes an editorial to the next level. This type of spontaneity produces an editorial you can look at over and over without apathy.

This past Friday, April 30, was the annual "Volapalooza" concert with three discrete bands who performed; Irish-jig band Flogging Molly, rapper Asher Roth, and the electronic-rocksters Passion Pit. It was indeed a dandy and diverse night of music I have to say. Many people attended this exciting event. As soon as I started wandering around the venue the concert was held at, I spotted many stylish individuals. Bohemian-hippie, edgy-rocker, contemporary-chic; many different fashions were all around. I loved seeing and hearing the diversity of music and people that were at this annual event. Here is a photo of a unique individual who attended the concert in style.

He designed each backdrop for his fiance', Coco, to impress us by going from a tribal Rodarte warrior, a feathered angel, to a quirky clown; all without skipping a beat. Coco's in the top ten of Models.com, and she was also number one choice among the readers of Flare.com as top Canadian model. Coco is really one of the very best models out in the industry. It's not so much about Coco's look, its the whole package. She's so expressive in many, many ways. Coco is a performer; she expresses herself throughout each shot and that's what makes her one of the very best. She's not afraid to make fun of herself, she just goes for it, and it really shows in her shots. For this shoot, it's all about moods and color, which is a huge statement for spring.

There are of course many smokers in the fashion industry. Models are also hugely popular for the influence of smoking, and many are regarded as excellent dressers off the catwalk. Models such as Freja Beha Erichson and Kate Moss are style icons, and are looked up to by fashion followers as unique, stylish and interesting individuals. Do they influence people to smoke? Well, it certainly plays up to the glamorous lifestyle that people associate modelling with, and I can image that people who hope for a similar lifestyle could be influenced. There are many young teenage girls who read the pages of Vogue, bewildered by it's exciting content, and highly influenced by both its fashion and its atmosphere. Would a 14 year old girl be more likely to want to try smoking? Well, it obviously depends on how influenced by these images they really are. Fashion and smoking have gone hand in hand for many years; models smoking before fashion shows or just simply walking the streets of NYC, and even using smoking as a sexual device in editorials. In editorials, models have a cigarette, whether its in their hand or mouth, that is tied to being carefree, a little bit punk, or on the opposite end of the spectrum, elegant and successful.

Erin Wasson has a keen sense of style and even if her designs are not your cup of tea, you have to admire how much fun she seems to be having in creating new collections. Surrounded by large Persian rugs that hung like college tapestries around the space, she also had also organized a stage where indie an group, Yeasayer, performed two songs while models walked by. The clothes coming down the runway were loose and slouchy. Nearly every dress was full-length and worn with a beret. Cream was the dominating color and also came in the form of silk tops, cotton tunics, leggings, blazers and leather shorts. Her inspiration for this collection was rock n' roll, French cool, indie spirit, andalabaster-inspired designs.

The most important kind of freedom is to be who and what you really are. If you've wanted to do something your whole life, go for it. It's your own life to live, not someone else's. Don't ever let anyone's opinion get in your way. Do what you love and become what you want to become. I say spend your life the way you want to, be free and be happy. Alexander McQueen's death shocked the fashion world on February 11, 2010. Right before New York Fashion Week was about to take place, this amazing designer wouldn't be at one of the fashion's biggest events to present his dramatic designs. McQueen had such extraordinary designs that it earned him the British Designer of the Year award four times. He put together such unconventional designs which no other designer could possibly construct. New York Fashion Week wasn't the same without this talented person. As we keep his loved ones in our prayers, we hope that Alexander McQueen rests in peace.

Mary Kate Olsen is one of a kind. She is not the kind of person that would wear head-to-toe high end pieces all at once. A true fashion icon to me is someone who mixes and matches and makes it look very fashionable. Mary-Kate is known as the boho chic style, which kind of has that effortless look to it. She pairs a high end designer piece with something vintage, and that's what makes her so fashionable. Someone that is wearing all one label isn't putting any effort or fun into their outfit or style. You pair things with vintage pieces and that's what makes you stand out. Mary Kate is definitely a trend setter and knows her personal style.

Bonjour, I'm Caroline Dominick Trotter, named after my amazing grandmother, Elizabeth Dominick Trotter, but I go by Caroline. I could write 5 pages about myself, but for now, I'm going to try and keep it nice and simple. I love fashion, photography, art, writing, listening to music, and playing guitar & the piano. If you wanted to know how I would describe my style, I would say that it changes frequently. I'll go through phases where I'll be more of a laid-back bohemian chick in the summer and as fall and winter come around, I'm definitely more edgy and most likely to be wearing the more darker hues everyday, but still very fashionable. Black is my favorite color, I tend to have more neutral colors in my closet, but that doesn't mean I don't like the bright and colorful hues. I'm fourteen years old right now, turning fifteen on January 18th, and once I graduate high school, I hope to move to New York City and pursue my dreams of working in the fashion idustry. I'm not exactly sure what I really want to do for my career quite yet, but I have several ideas in my head for now. I either would like to be a designer, editor of a fashion magazine, or photographer. For college, I would love to attend NYU or a design school like Parson's. I'm heading off to bed for now, and hopefully that's given you a little bio about myself.
